After the passing away of Lord Buddha at the cannonball tree garden, Kusinara City of Malla Kingdom, India one Sacred Tooth was taken away by the King of all deities, Shakra, another Sacred Tooth was taken away by the people of Ghandara, India and yet another Sacred Tooth by the Naga King for veneration and worship. Arahant Khema has retrieved the Left Sacred Tooth and handed it over to King Brahmadatta of Baranasi, India. Arahant Khema proclaimed that after the reign of Brhmadattas’ the Sacred Tooth will dwell in Sihala Deepa across the seas for a very long time.
During the reign of King Guhaseeva in 303 AD Princess Hemamala and Prince Dhantha brought the Sacred Tooth to Lanka Deepa. Today the Sacred Tooth dwells in the Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy being highly venerated by Buddhists across the world. Let this cinema work be an offering to the Sacred Tooth Relic.
