Renowned playwright and teledrama director, Siritunga Perera, will make his debut on the silver screen with Kanyavi.

The muhurath ceremony of the film was held recently at Elphinstone theatre. Chairman of the National Film Corporation, Jayantha Dharmadasa, was chief guest.

Indika Wijeratne will produce Kanyavi on behalf of Cine Vision Film Corporation. The caste includes Sanath Gunatileke, Meena Kumari, Pubudu Chathuranga, Himali Sayurangi and Sathishchandra Wijeratne in main roles while Dilani Madurasinghe will make her debut.

Maestro Premasiri Kemadasa will direct the music while Upul Shantha Sannasgala will pen the lyrics. Stanley de Silva will be the art director. K.D. Dayananda will handle the camera and Derik Fernando will be the cameraman of Kanyavi.
